Why This Role Matters

The Engineering Manager role is here to create structure, clarity and momentum across our engineering team, ensuring that day-to-day delivery runs effectively and sustainably.

We're not looking for someone to simply manage tasks or oversee processes. We're looking for someone who can take ownership of team performance, unblock delivery, and support the growth and development of our engineers.

This role exists to ensure our senior technical leadership can focus on innovation and future direction, while the team is supported and able to deliver at pace.

What You'll Help Us Achieve

Rather than focusing on activities, we focus on outcomes. Success in this role means delivering impact in the following areas:

Outcome 1: Customer Impact

Success looks like:

  • Engineering delivery is consistent, reliable and aligned to customer needs.
  • Blockers are identified early and resolved quickly.
  • Work is delivered on time with high quality and minimal rework.

Outcome 2: Business Impact

Success looks like:

  • Engineering capacity is used effectively, reducing bottlenecks and delays.
  • A smooth and scalable delivery model is in place as the team grows.
  • Senior leadership time is freed up from day-to-day team management and delivery oversight.

Outcome 3: Team Impact

Success looks like:

  • Engineers are supported, coached and continuously developing.
  • Daily stand-ups, sprint planning and reviews run effectively.
  • Knowledge sharing and learning (including AI and new technologies) is embedded in the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
