About the Role

Reporting to the Equipment Supervisor this role is required to support the maintenance and upkeep of Semiconductor processing reactors and associated equipment. This role focuses on equipment reliability and efficiency through preventative maintenance and repairs.

Main Responsibilities

The Engineering Technician will be required to:

  • Work in all environments throughout the facility, following all required protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and ownership by completing scheduled housekeeping tasks within the scope of the site requirements.
  • Comply with all health and safety, HR, environmental quality and cybersecurity guidelines and procedures internally and within the scope of business, ISO, and regulatory requirements as it pertains to the job function.
  • Comply with all EHS protocols and requirements.
  • Comply with all company policies, SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), Work Instructions, and record keeping requirements.
  • Have clear understanding of chemicals and substances in the workplace and follow strict guidance for handling of such substances, which could include PPE requirements.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment and promote teamwork across departments.
  • The role may require a degree of flexibility in working hours, which will be discussed and agreed to support both individual and organisational needs.
  • Adhere to the competency management process, completing assigned tasks, training and approvals in a timely manner.
  • Use computerized tools and software to follow process and routine tasks, accurately recording all works carried out for traceability and within the scope of the role.
  • Learns and develops an understanding of the following:
    • All requirements to provide equipment maintenance to support the production operation.
    • Use of chemicals and substances related to Equipment activities.
    • The preventative maintenance cycle that is used to service the epitaxial deposition systems.
    • The process to execute leak check of vacuum chambers and pressurised lines.
  • Maintains reactor support equipment items and assemblies, ensuring a quality standard of refurbishment with parts ready to fit when required.
  • Active involvement with the safety team and Emergency Response Team (ERT), providing feedback to the safety team on areas of improvement within the work environment.
  • Perform other functions and duties as required.

About You

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while thriving in a team environment.
  • Computer Literacy: Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Able to follow detailed instructions to completion.
  • Has a clear commitment to health and safety protocols, and a proactive mentality to ensure the safety of others.
  • Has a commitment to quality.
  • Has a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Has particular attention to detail.
  • Has technical analytical skills.
  • Experience working in semiconductor, manufacturing, or an engineering environment is desirable.
  • Minimum HNC in an engineering discipline.
