Engineering Technician – Rivan Industries
About Us
Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company driving the decarbonisation of heavy industry. Our mission? To make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on Earth by keeping CO₂ locked underground.
We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants, integrating core elements like a Direct Air Capture (DAC) system, an alkaline electrolyser, and a Sabatier reactor, paired with off-grid DC solar infrastructure. Our latest milestone: the deployment of the UK’s largest synthetic fuel plant. We’re now focused on scaling by 1,000x over the next two years.
At our HQ, “increase iteration speed or die” is ingrained in our culture. Success hinges on rapid iteration—moving swiftly from flawed designs to proven solutions. Given that information is the bottleneck, your ability to build prototypes, test assemblies, and extract actionable data is critical to our progress.
We’re seeking an Engineering Technician who thrives on hands-on problem-solving, values meticulous attention to detail, and feels stifled in their current environment. If you love building things and aim to accelerate engineering outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
