Experience in aircraft environments is beneficial but not essential.

This is a hands-on engineering role supporting the structural integrity, reliability, and serviceability of RAF Brize Norton’s C-17 Globemaster aircraft. You will carry out structural assessments, structural engineering repairs, metallic component work, and fabrication of parts. Tasks take place both in the engineering workshop and on the aircraft, including working at height and in confined spaces.

At RAF Brize Norton—the RAF’s largest operational base—Serco has delivered multi-activity engineering support since 1997. As part of this team, you will contribute directly to air mobility operations that enable global RAF commitments.

For the successful candidate, Serco will provide an intensive two-week specialist aircraft structural hand-skills course, followed by additional on-the-job training within our workshop. This development programme covers riveting, precision engineering hand skills, working to tight tolerances, and sheet metal fabrication, ensuring you gain the practical capability required to excel in the role.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
