🔧 Role Summary: Operations Engineer
At Catalent, we don’t just manufacture medicines—we engineer breakthroughs. Our Operations Engineering team in Swindon is expanding, and we seek talented engineers to confront complex challenges and drive Sustainable progress in pharmaceutical manufacturing. We’re looking for professionals with expertise in:
- ✅ Electrical Systems
- ❄️ Refrigeration & Freeze Drier Engineering
- 🔬 Process Engineering
- 💧 Utilities Engineering
The right candidate will collaborate in a fast-paced, regulated environment, leveraging their technical skills to shape life-saving treatments.
📌 Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge systems that support critical manufacturing processes across multi-modality platforms.
- Troubleshoot and optimise electrical, refrigeration, freeze-dryer, process, and utilities systems for reliability, efficiency, and compliance.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams—including scientists, regulatory affairs, and operations—to accelerate product development and production pipelines.
- Contribute to job safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence standards.
- Utilise advanced tools and data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement.

🎯 Required Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
✔ Technical Expertise
- Degree or equivalent experience in engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering).
- Specialist certifications or hands-on experience in freeze-drying technology, HVAC utilities, or process automation are a plus.
- Proficiency with engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Spline, PLC programming).
- Strong understanding of regulated industries (GMP, GAMP, FDA/UK MHRA guidelines).
✔ Capability & Mindset
- Ability to solve complex technical challenges with innovative and systematic approaches.
- Collaborative mindset, with experience working in team-centric, high-pressure environments.
- Commitment to sustainable operations and facility optimisation.
- Safety-conscious attitude: Compliance with global occupational health and safety protocols.
