English ECT | Newham | September 2026

An exceptional secondary school and sixth form in Newham is seeking an English ECT from September 2026. This permanent opportunity is ideal for an ambitious early career teacher looking to begin within a school recognised nationally for academic achievement, sixth form excellence and outstanding student destinations. The role involves teaching English across KS3, KS4 with the opportunity to contribute to KS5 over time.

The school has established one of the strongest academic reputations in London, with students regularly progressing to Oxford, Cambridge and Russell Group universities in exceptionally high numbers. GCSE English outcomes remain consistently outstanding, with large proportions of students achieving grades 7-9, while sixth form students achieve some of the strongest A-Level outcomes nationally. Reading, extended writing and disciplinary literacy are embedded across the curriculum, contributing to consistently high attainment across all subjects.
