Role Description
The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Teacher will design and deliver high-quality EAP teaching to support students in developing the language, academic skills, and critical thinking needed for successful study across a range of disciplines.

Responsibilities:

- Planning and teaching lessons
- Preparing learning materials
- Assessing student work
- Providing constructive feedback
- Supporting learners in areas such as academic writing, reading, listening, speaking, referencing, and presentations
The role involves:
- Contributing to curriculum development
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure consistency and high standards
- Participating in departmental meetings, moderation, and quality assurance activities
- Offering pastoral and academic support
- Monitoring student progress
- Helping create an inclusive, supportive learning environment aligned with university policies
This is a full-time, on-site role based in the United Kingdom.
Qualifications
- Strong academic English teaching skills, including experience in English for Academic Purposes, academic writing, reading, listening, and speaking instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and support skills such as critical thinking, note-taking, seminar participation, presentations, and effective study strategies.
- Experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating curricula, lesson plans, assessments, and learning materials for higher education or pathway programmes.
- Proficiency in providing clear, constructive written and oral feedback, with strong classroom management and learner engagement skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive teaching for a diverse student body.
- Relevant teaching qualification such as a DELTA, PGCE, or equivalent, and a degree in English, Applied Linguistics, TESOL, Education, or a related field.
- Experience in UK higher education or international pathways, and familiarity with quality assurance processes and academic integrity standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, contribute to departmental initiatives, and engage in ongoing professional development.
