English Hub Finance Administration
Overview
- Role: Finance Administration Assistant (Catholic Education Service)
- Working Hours: 30 hours per week
- Term-time only, plus one week in August
- Total: 40 weeks per year
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM (flexibility to negotiate may be possible)
- Salary Range:
- Actual: £18,886 – £21,373.22 per year
- FTE Equivalent: £26,562 – £30,060 per year
- Start Date: 1st September 2026
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Post Purpose: To assist in maintaining the financial administration of the English Hub, ensuring accurate and efficient management of financial records, income, and expenditure in compliance with Catholic Education Service policies and safeguarding procedures.
Key Responsibilities (Examples):
- Processing accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and petty cash transactions.
- Assisting with payroll and compliance with HMRC/VAT requirements.
- Maintaining financial documentation, planning budgets, and tracking expenditure.
- Working collaboratively with Head of Finance and trustees on financial reporting.
- Assisting with purchase orders and invoice verification.
- Preserving strict confidentiality regarding sensitive financial information.
- Completing business travel forms and expenses claims in line with school policies.
- Supporting the use of accounting and financial software (e.g., Sage, Job abierto).

Requirements
Skills & Experience:
- Essential:
- Strong numeracy skills and proficiency in spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel or equivalents).
- Attention to accuracy and detail for compliance purposes.
- Ability to use own initiative, work independently, and meet tight deadlines.
- Basic understanding of Cashflow/Critical Financial Management practices.
- Mindful set of safeguarding procedures and duties towards young people.
- Desirable but not essential experience with specific software (e.g., financial systems) or previous accounting/administrative roles.
