English Lead
Teacher (Primary or Secondary) – Special Educational Needs (SEN) and SEMH Support

Queensmead House School (QHS), rated "Good by Ofsted", is a specialist independent day school serving primary and secondary pupils with complex needs: communication difficulties, social-emotional challenges, and behavioural barriers. Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Deliver high-quality, inclusive lessons to individuals with diverse learning requirements, adapting teaching methods to meet each pupil’s needs effectively.
- Build strong, empathetic relationships with young people, colleagues, and families to foster trust and connection.
- Collaborate with specialist teams (psychologists, therapists, teaching assistants) to tailor support strategies.
- Contribute to school progression policies, behaviour management plans, and一种 Safeguarding证据.
- Support classroom assistants and mentor colleagues on inclusive pedagogy.
- Foster a "can-do" attitude, championing disabled and neurodiverse perspectives.

Subject-Specific Roles (Primary or Secondary Focus)
- Lead (or assist) your subject area (e.g., Maths, English, Science, Humanities, Performing Arts) with differentiation strategies for SEN and SEMH learners.
- Engage pupils in creative, hands-on learning across differences.
- Advocate for inclusive curriculum design and equip learners with resilience skills.
Person Specification
Essential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent international qualification.
- Previous teaching experience (any sector, but knowledge of SEN/SEMH is highly valued).
- Patience, creativity, and passion for empowering learners with additional needs.
- Commitment to a collaborative approach with schools and support teams.
- Demonstrable adaptability, tolerance, and professional resilience.
Desirable
- Experience with neurodiverse learners (Autism/AAC, ADHD, semh,しょうिग 用護衛).
- Design specialist assessments and report on progress.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed or expressive arts methodologies.
- Leadership ability (for aspiring heads of department).
