English Literature Lecturer – Part-Time (0.8 FTE), Permanent

Location: London Employer: Capital City College Group Working Pattern: Part-time (0.8 Full-Time Equivalent), permanent


About the Role

Enthusiastic and skilled English Literature Lecturer required to join Capital City College’s dynamic London-based education team.

As a Lecturer in English Literature, you will:

  • Support learners to achieve their academic goals and reach their full potential.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching in A Level English Literature (aligned with OCR syllabus).
  • Contribute to curriculum development and provide academic/pastoral guidance.
  • Inspire students to progress in their chosen field.

This role is ideal for a passionate, experienced educator dedicated to nurturing the next generation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching excellence: Delivery of high-quality OCR A Level English Literature lessons in line with syllabus requirements.
  • Curriculum contribution: Support in developing and refining course materials.

About You (Requirements)

We seek a dedicated English Literature specialist with:

  • Proven teaching experience in A Level English Literature (or commitment to gaining qualified status).
  • Strong subject knowledge of the OCR English Literature curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Classroom management expertise suitable for varied learner needs.
  • A learner-centred teaching approach with a focus on inclusivity.
  • A qualified teaching status (or enthusiasm to pursue one via routes such as the PGCE).
