English Teacher | September 2026 | Barking and Dagenham

A high-achieving secondary school in Barking and Dagenham is seeking to appoint a passionate and ambitious English Teacher to join their successful English department from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an English Teacher to join a thriving school with high academic expectations, excellent behavior, and a strong culture of achievement across KS3KS5.

Role Overview

The successful English Teacher will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that inspire a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking. Working within a supportive and collaborative department, the English Teacher will play a key role in maintaining strong outcomes while ensuring all students are challenged and supported to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative and engaging English lessons across KS3KS5
  • Build positive relationships and maintain high classroom expectations
  • Differentiate effectively to support students of all abilities
  • Monitor progress and use assessment effectively to raise attainment
  • Contribute positively to departmental planning and wider school life
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and academic ambition in students
