English Teacher in China
Public, International & Language Schools
£1,800-£3,300+ per month

China Link ESL places graduates and experienced teachers into full-time positions with public schools, international schools, and language schools across China. Whether you're looking for your first teaching role abroad or are an experienced educator seeking a new opportunity, we can help match you with suitable schools based on your qualifications and experience. No previous teaching experience is required for many entry-level positions.
Established in 2008, we work directly with schools and operate strictly within official visa regulations. We provide full visa sponsorship and guide teachers step-by-step - from interview and contract stage through to arrival and settling in. Public school positions primarily follow an August intake, while language school opportunities are available throughout the year.

School Pathways
Public Schools (Main Intake: August)
- Monday-Friday daytime schedule
- Paid summer and winter holidays
- Government-regulated contracts
- Structured academic calendar
Entry-level teachers typically begin in kindergarten placements. Teachers with 2+ years of full-time classroom experience may qualify for middle or high school roles.
Language Schools (Year-Round Starts)
- Structured curriculum provided
- Mixed age groups (children, teenagers, adults)
- Evening and weekend schedules
- More flexible daytime hours
Suitable for both new and experienced teachers.
Salary Overview
Salary is determined by experience, qualifications, and school type.
Public Schools
- First-year teachers: approx. £1,800 per month
- Experienced teachers: approx. £2,300-£3,300+ per month
- Paid summer and winter holidays
- Monday-Friday schedule

Final placement and salary details are confirmed prior to contract signing.
Requirements
Graduate / Entry-Level Roles
- Bachelor’s degree (required for Chinese work visa eligibility)
- Clean criminal background check
- Ability to commit to a 12-month contract
A 120-hour TEFL certificate can be completed during the visa preparation period if not already obtained.
Experienced Roles
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 2 years full-time classroom teaching experience
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE / QTS / State License preferred)
- CELTA / DELTA accepted for English specialist roles
No Chinese language skills required. Applicants must meet Chinese work visa eligibility requirements.
