Are you a Life Changer?

Do you want to lean in and transform the life of a child?

At Compass Community, we put children first through our therapeutic, innovative approach. Our values are Integrity, Courage, and Care—we listen deeply, challenge one another, and fix what needs fixing, together.

This is the work, and we’d like you to be part of it.

Who We Are

Our children represent a wide range of backgrounds, all with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Many also have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including:

  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • Communication difficulties

Our school operates as a trauma and attachment-informed organisation. Every staff member receives extensive therapeutic training and support.

Our philosophy centres the child in all decision-making, fostering collaboration between:

  • Education and therapy professionals
  • Parents/carers
  • Local authority teams
  • Most importantly, our students themselves

This coordinated effort ensures outstanding outcomes for every child.

The Role

As a teacher at Compass Community School, your primary responsibility is teaching children before teaching subjects. Central to this role is:

  • Knowing the child—deep understanding and awareness of individual needs
  • Building nurturing, professional, and positive relationships
  • Motivating students to engage, exceed expectations, and achieve potential

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
