English Teacher, Key Stage 3 & 4 Location: Good School, South London Salary: GBP £18,000 - GBP £28,000 (full-time) Work basis: Full-time Start date: September (paid trials/interviews immediately)
About the Role
We are seeking an English Teacher for Key Stage 3 (KS3) and 4 (GCSE) to join a modern, state-of-the-art school in South London. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons, support students in achieving their best, and contribute to a vibrant, success-driven learning environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for teachers at any stage of their careers, including Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) and those trained in the UK or overseas.
Responsibilities
- Teach English Language & Literature across Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9) and Key Stage 4 (GCSE English).
- Develop plans, schemes of work, and lesson resources aligned with national curricula and school expectations.
- Assess student progress, provide detailed feedback, and support bassline-level learners in raising attainment.
- Engage in workplace mentoring (both formally and informally) and contribute to departmental activities (e.g., marking, planning, enrichment).
- Participate in pastoral responsibilities and promote a positive, inclusive ethos within the school community.
- Collaborate with colleagues to uphold the school’s mission of high achievement and personal development for every pupil.

Requirements
- Qualification:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in England, or a formal secondary-level teaching qualification from overseas.
- A-level (or equivalent) English is preferred.
- Experience:
- Open to all career stages, including NQTs.
- Relevant experience in state, private, or international education will be considered.
- Attributes:
- Strong subject knowledge in English Literature, Language (inc. GCSE), and functional contexts (e.g., Shakespeare, non-fiction, or creative writing).
- Enthusiasm to work in a school that aims high, works hard, and values integrity.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
