Teaching Vacancy: Experienced English Teacher (Ages 6–18) at Five Rivers Child Care
About the Role
Our growing school in Salisbury is seeking dedicated Teachers to join our supportive, child-centred team. We value flexibility, collaboration, and a commitment to holistic, personalised education. Currently, we’re recruiting for an Experienced English Teacher.
Key Highlights:
- Work with a trauma-informed, therapeutic school model (holder of the Attachment and Trauma-Sensitive School Gold Award).
- Support bespoke learning for children/youth with diverse needs, both in and out of the classroom.

Your Daily Impact
- Engage in flexible teaching frameworks adapted to each student’s needs (linked to therapeutic practices).
- Operate across school/community settings, supporting children whoerman’t attend traditional education settings.
- Collaborate in a trauma-sensitive, disciplined care environment where personal progress matters.
Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored English curriculum (literacy, creative writing, language/language development) to students aged 6–18, accommodating diverse learning styles and emotional needs.
- Engage in flexible scheduling that may extend to outside school premises for community support work.
- Actively contribute to therapeutic education planning, aligned with the school’s attachment-based approach.
- Maintain strong records of progress and engage in individualised student monitoring.
- Support students in building confidence, emotional resilience, and academic self-efficacy.

Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recordable NQTS.
- Passion for working with students who have additional emotional or behavioural needs.
- Experience in specialist education or therapeutic settings is advantageous (not mandatory but preferred).
- Valid UK driving licence (for community-based work).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Excellent written and digital communication skills (Dyslexia-friendly systems available).
- Ability to listen actively, empower students through conversation, and collaborate with colleagues.

- Comfortable adapting teaching methods to therapeutic approaches.

Hours
- Term-time only, aligned with Wiltshire Local Authority.
- Full-time contract (37.5 hrs/week)
- Wednesday: 08:30–17:00
- All other days: 08:30–16:30
