English Teacher (SEN)

£38,000 – £56,000 + £2,700 SEN Allowance

We're recruiting for an English Teacher to join a Good-rated specialist school supporting children with Autism and additional needs. With small class sizes, dedicated therapy teams and a personalised curriculum, you'll have the time, support and freedom to inspire students who benefit most from exceptional teaching.

Set in peaceful woodland in Surrey, the school takes a really unique approach to learning making reading a huge part of their development student ethos, embedding therapy support for students who need it and encouraging teaching beyond the classroom creative projects and extensive outdoor learning.

About the role

  • Deliver engaging English lessons tailored to SEN students in small less than 10 pupil class sizes
  • Integrate EHCP targets to support academic and personal growth
  • Develop student's literacy skills including reading fluency, phonics, writing and communication

What we are looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status with specialist expertise in English
  • Experience designing and leading curriculum development preferably in a SEND or ASC setting
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and understanding of dyslexia and communication needs
  • Experience with assessment frameworks such as GCSE, Functional Skills and Entry Level
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
