About Tutor Doctor
Tutor Doctor Bolton West provides personalised one-to-one tutoring for children and young people across the local area.
We do not simply match students with any available tutor. We take time to understand each student’s academic needs, confidence, personality, learning style and goals, then carefully match them with a tutor who is the right fit both academically and personally.
We are currently looking for experienced, reliable and engaging English tutors to support students face-to-face in the local area.
The Role
We are looking for an English tutor who can support a range of students, from upper primary and early secondary through to GCSE.
This may include students who are doing well but need support with English confidence, grammar, comprehension and the transition into secondary school, as well as GCSE students who may be struggling with English Language, English Literature, confidence, written expression, reading comprehension or exam preparation. It may also include students who are struggling and require remedial work in order to pass their SATs or GCSE English.
Some students may also have additional learning needs, autism, possible dyslexia, low confidence, anxiety around school, or may have become disengaged from learning. The right tutor will be able to build trust, explain clearly and help students feel that English is manageable rather than overwhelming.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
