Role Overview

Are you a qualified Enhanced Care Practitioner, currently undertaking your ECP course or looking for a new exciting challenge?

We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join the advanced practice nursing team to support the colorectal surgical team with the management of patients on a faster diagnosis pathway (FDS). The role will also include supporting The Colorectal Enhanced Recovery (ERP) Pathway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the ACP Team with the Colorectal Fast Track Service.
  • Assessing patients in a telephone clinic, requesting investigations, and acting on the results.
  • Communicating with the ACP Team, Consultant Colleagues, and Primary Care Colleagues.

Requirements

You will need to demonstrate the necessary skills to support the management of patients on an FDS Colorectal pathway.

Working Hours

The service is currently Monday-Friday.

Vacancies

We have 2 vacancies - 1x 37.5hrs and 1 x 32.5 hrs.

Pay Grades

  • If you are a qualified ECP, you will be offered a band 7 position.
  • If you are currently a trainee ECP, we welcome your application. If you are successful, we will offer you a band 6 position, and on completion of the course and sign off competencies, you will be upgraded to a band 7 as hospital policy.
  • For applicants who want to commence their career in enhanced practice, this post comes with funding for the PG Cert ECP Apprenticeship course. If successful, you will be offered a band 6 ECP post. On completion of the course and sign off of competencies, you will be upgraded to a band 7 as hospital policy.

We are in line to receive a significant national investment of £201 million to help transform our services and redevelop Poole Hospital and the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals, now merged as University Hospitals Dorset.
