About the Role

Interactive Brokers (U.K.) Limited (IBUK) is recruiting an EDD Analyst to conduct enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews on higher-risk client accounts, supporting a diverse offerings portfolio and international client base.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in EDD reviews for existing IBKR clients, aligning with their AML risk rating and request cycle.
  • Assess critical client information—including public searches, source of wealth/funds, beneficial ownership verification, and Peace/RWD Euro Monitor checks—and review:
    • Records of regulatory enquiries
    • Cashiering activity (deposits, withdrawals, wires) for suspicious activity documentation
    • Offshore Leaks Database cross-references
    • High-risk clients escalations from New Account Teams
  • Evaluate and resolve red flags: negative news, potential Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) matches, or contradictory details.
  • Advise the Head of EDD on KYC/EDD programme operations, liaising with AML, Trade Surveillance, and Special Investigations Teams.
  • Achieve KPIs for key EDD performance metrics, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and regulatory expectations.
  • Monitor and enforce adherency to firm’s KYC and EDD procedures globally.
  • Coordinate with 1st Line of Defence (1LOD) on new products, initiatives, and risk assessment processes, facilitating staff AML accountability.
  • Support external audits, regulators, and government teams by collating documentation for their KYC/EDD assessment programmes.
  • Maintain and update AML policies, risk assessments, and monitoring relating to 1LOD and risk teams, ensuring distribution to all relevant internal parties.
  • Foster cross-border collaboration with EDD personnel in other jurisdictions to exchange best practices, sharing insights on UK and EU regulatory developments.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • 2+ years’ professional experience in AML compliance, preferably at a large broker or finance institutions (with EU client base exposure).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, Accounting, CAMS certification, or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong regulatory knowledge: EU and UK regulations on KYC, EDD, and Customer Identification Programme (CIP requirements).
  • Intermediate technical skills in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English (B2/C1 level) required.
  • Proactive, independent worker capable of maintaining a high-performance output in a small team environment.
