Locum ENT Registrar Vacancy

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for a Locum ENT Registrar to fill a vacancy in the ENT Department from 7th October 2026 for 12 months. The start date is negotiable.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must have worked in the UK or Ireland
  • Must have registrar level (ST3 and above equivalent) specialist training in ENT
  • Must be fluent in English

About the Department

The main ENT Department is located in the West Wing at The John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. It provides emergency care and a wide range of general and sub-specialty elective inpatient work for the Oxfordshire and surrounding regions. The on call rota and registrar training rotations are located across Oxford University Hospitals (John Radcliffe Hospital, the Churchill Hospital and The Horton Hospital) as well as Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS trust (Stoke Mandeville and High Wycombe Hospitals).

The department prides itself on being a regional tertiary referral centre for head and neck oncology, skull base surgery, paediatric ENT, specialist rhinology and otology including cochlear implants and bone anchored hearing aids. It is the hub of the Regional SpR Training Programme. It is an extremely supportive department with ample opportunity for learning and development.

Duties

  • Attend ward rounds
  • Undertake ward work
  • Participate in holding the registrar on-call bleep as part of on call duties
  • Run clinics independently with consultant supervision
  • Attend theatres to improve clinical and surgical skills
  • Attend and contribute to monthly academic sessions, MDT and clinical governance
  • Regular teaching sessions run by the consultants
