We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the technology architecture across Asda's customer-facing digital estate, including Grocery Home Shopping, George.com, Customer platforms.

This role is responsible for defining the technology strategy, target architectures and transformation roadmap that underpin Asda's digital commerce ambitions. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in shaping the future of online retail at Asda, including the strategic migration of Grocery Home Shopping capabilities to the Ocado platform ecosystem.

What You'll Love

  • Define and own the technology strategy and architecture roadmap for eCommerce and Customer platforms.
  • Provide architectural leadership for Asda's Grocery Home Shopping transformation and migration to the Ocado platform.
  • Develop target-state, transition and integration architectures that support business growth and digital transformation.
  • Govern technology decisions, architecture standards and solution designs across the domain.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to shape investment priorities and strategic initiatives.
  • Promote modern architectural approaches including API-led, event-driven and cloud-native patterns.
  • Drive simplification of the technology estate, reducing technical debt and improving platform re-use.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on digital commerce and customer technology strategy.

What You'll Need

  • You'll be a strategic technology leader with deep experience delivering architecture across large-scale digital, retail or eCommerce environments.
  • You'll bring:
    • Significant Enterprise Architecture experience within digital, customer or eCommerce domains.
    • Strong knowledge of online retail, customer experience and digital commerce platforms.
    • Experience leading complex transformation programmes and large technology roadmaps.
    • Expertise in architecture governance, operating models, technology strategy and roadmap development.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at executive level.
    • Experience designing highly resilient, scalable and integrated platforms.
    • Broad knowledge of cloud technologies, integration patterns, data platforms and modern engineering practices.
    • An ability to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery outcomes.

Desirable Experience

  • Grocery eCommerce or omnichannel retail experience.
  • Experience of large-scale platform migration programmes.
  • Knowledge of customer identity, loyalty, personalisation and digital marketing ecosystems.
  • Experience working with strategic technology partners and third-party platform providers.
  • Exposure to Ocado or similar modern commerce and fulfilment platforms.
