About the Opportunity:

Amentum are offering an exciting opportunity to join our growing team of IT professionals to work on a range of projects for our diverse client portfolio that covers Critical National Infrastructure, National Security, Defence and Nuclear market sectors. Our team is growing and are we looking for proactive and collaborative professionals of all levels to work within us in providing a range of services to our clients. With our deep technical, commercial, and strategic expertise we develop solutions that address our client’s critical challenges supporting digitalisation and security.

We are looking for an individual to join our team as an Enterprise Architect helping to shape our clients’ IT infrastructures. You will align client IT architectures with their business goals and objectives, playing a crucial role in ensuring that IT systems and processes support clients’ overall strategies and enabling them to achieve long-term objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Strategy Alignment: Analyse clients’ business strategy and objectives, identifying critical success factors and areas where IT can contribute to achieving them. IT Infrastructure and Systems: Evaluate clients’ existing IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network components, assessing its effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement. Enterprise Architecture Modelling: Develop and maintain comprehensive enterprise architecture models that represent clients’ IT landscapes, including business processes, data flows, and technology components. IT Strategy and Roadmap: Formulate long-term IT strategies that align with clients’ business goals and objectives, outlining future investments, initiatives, and technology adoption plans. Project Governance and Oversight: Guide and oversee IT projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring that they align with the enterprise architecture and business objectives. Innovation and Technology Assessment: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on the organisation and recommending appropriate adoption strategies. Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with stakeholders across different levels of the clients’ organisation, including executives, business units, and IT teams, to ensure alignment and buy-in. Risk Management and Compliance: Identify and assess IT-related risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards. Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance clients’ IT architectures, ensuring that they remains aligned with business needs and adapting to evolving business conditions.

Here's What You'll Need:

Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems) or equivalent experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to architect solutions to complex challenges. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate within high-performing teams.

Experience:

Experience working within the UK MOD or Critical National Infrastructure. At least 5 years’ experience working on Defence or CNI IT systems.

Standards & Frameworks:

Desirable qualifications/certifications (any of):

TOGAF 9. Unified Architecture Framework. Open Group Certified Architect (Open CA). ArchiMate Certified Expert. IT4IT Foundation. Certified Solution Architect: AWS or Azure.
