A bit about the role

Reporting to the Head of Sales, you'll play a key role in driving sponsorship revenue across Shoptalk Europe—one of the retail industry's fastest-growing events.

  • Working with some of the world's leading retailers, brands, technology providers and solution partners, you'll identify new business opportunities, develop strategic relationships, and secure high-value sponsorship partnerships that help clients achieve their commercial objectives.
  • This is a consultative, enterprise sales role focused on both new logo acquisition and strategic account growth.
  • You'll collaborate closely with internal content, marketing, customer success and operations teams to deliver exceptional client experiences and long-term partnerships.

As part of your role, you'll:

  • Meet and exceed individual sponsorship revenue targets while contributing to overall team performance.
  • Identify, prospect and close new sponsorship opportunities across the European retail technology ecosystem.
  • Build relationships with senior decision-makers including CMOs, CROs, Heads of Ecommerce, Retail Innovation, Digital Transformation, Marketing and Partnerships leaders.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to grow existing client relationships and secure multi-year partnerships.
  • Create tailored sponsorship and marketing solutions that align with client objectives and deliver measurable ROI.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and manage opportunities through the full sales cycle.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, CRM activity and revenue forecasts.
  • Partner with Content, Marketing, Customer Success and Operations teams to ensure successful campaign delivery.
  • Represent Shoptalk Europe at industry events and maintain a strong understanding of retail, ecommerce and technology market trends.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • 5+ years' experience in consultative B2B sales.
  • Proven success generating new business and consistently exceeding revenue targets.
  • Experience selling sponsorships, media, SaaS, technology solutions or enterprise partnerships.
  • Experience selling into retail, ecommerce, grocery, consumer brands, CPG and/or retail technology markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior executives and navigate complex buying groups.
  • Strong commercial negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience managing CRM pipelines, forecasting and strategic account planning.
  • Highly self-motivated, resilient and comfortable operating in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Willingness to travel across Europe to meet clients and attend industry events when required.

Nice to have

  • Experience selling sponsorships for conferences, exhibitions or large-scale B2B events.
  • Existing network within the European retail, ecommerce or retail technology community.
  • Experience working with enterprise technology vendors, marketing technology providers or digital commerce platforms.
