The Role

This Principal Consultant position is within the Infosys Consulting (Finance Services vertical)—a unit that collaborates with senior business and technology executives to co-create, refine, and operationalise client strategy.

This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role requiring 10+ years of Financial Services experience, with a proven track record in Enterprise Data Management (EDM).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategically and tactically shaping EDM capabilities
  • Advising clients as a trusted subject matter expert
  • Driving seamless delivery across complex enterprise environments

Ideal candidates must balance deep domain expertise (reference/data, market data, product funding legal/trade fundamentals) with hands-on experience integrating EDM platforms into production ecosystems.

The role pushes boundaries—solving complex problems, leading delivery efforts, and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve measurable results.

Responsibilities

Project Execution

  • Define and align client strategy with long-term vision and tactical milestones
  • Redesign client workflows and organisational processes through structured transformation roadmaps
  • Facilitate global requirements workshops with IT teams and subject matter experts, translating necessities into actionable projects and KPIs
  • Employ proven best practices in designing solutions, from functional specs to operational workflows
  • Oversee comprehensive solution testing (functional, integration, UAT, parallel tests)
  • Conduct post-project knowledge transfer to client and business teams
  • Own end-to-end project management (scope, quality, timeline alignment)
  • Coach teams to elevate performance and nurture career growth

People and Knowledge Development

  • Mentor colleagues through formal evaluations and one-on-one feedback
  • Collaborate and collaboratively share specialised knowledge across the practice

Practice Growth

  • Drive recruitment, training, and retention
  • Share thought leadership through differentiated insights, whitepapers, and unfair advantage methodologies
  • Stay current with Capital Markets best practices and contribute to service innovation
  • Contribute to industry conferences and forums—building thought-leadership position

What You’ll Deliver

  • Lead EDM engagements within Financial Services, with a focus on Capital Markets preferred.
  • Act as a strategic advisor for both aspiration and execution
  • Integrate EDM with upstream/downstream systems’ data ecosystems
  • Design end-to-end data workflows (reference, market, product/legal entity, and trade data)
  • Govern batch/realtime integration layers, ensuring seamless operations
  • Define data governance, quality, and lineage to enable compliance and traceability
  • Align with the full delivery lifecycle (proxy testing, performance tuning, production deployment)
  • Foster junior consultants, uphold best practices, and refine enterprise tools
  • Collaborate cross-team and hold key stakeholder relationships
  • Mitigate engagement risk with proactive issue resolution
  • Expand client engagement footprint beyond single mandates

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required; MBA or advanced degree preferred

Experience

  • 10+ years of Financial Services experience
    • 5+ years spent delivering Capital Markets–specific programs (investment banking, wealth management, asset management—retail/commercial banking … optionally added)
  • Consulting experience mandatory: Expertise in structuring, executing, and managing Cross-disciplinary transformation programs strongly recommended

Domain Expertise

  • Specialised knowledge in:
    • Reference data (securities, parties, pricing)
    • Market/product/master data workflows
    • Trade/position integration
  • Combat-ready EDM integration experience with:
    • Enterprise systems (SQL Server, Oracle, data warehouses)
    • Trading systems, OMS/EMS, risk, and portfolio platforms

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in SQL, ETL/data modelling
  • Data ingestion and procedural tools (stored procedures, messaging)
  • Actively apply EDM best practices (governance, data lineage)

Business Skills

  • Ability to bridge business insights with technical execution

  • Mastery of full project lifecycle (requisite gathering, design, prototyping, deployment, go-live, support/nerve)

  • Regulatory literacies like Basel, MiFID, Dodd-Frank count as a plus

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 80% based on client needs
  • Authorised to work as a UK citizen or H,* or long-term visa without employer sponsorship (sorry, no sponsorship for this role)
