Enterprise Platform Architect (Technical Specialist)
Duration: 6 months initial term Pay: £675 per day (PAYE) Location: 2 days per week in their Stratford, London office From September 2026: 50% office-based rotation

About the Role
Seeking an experienced Enterprise Platform Architect with strong communications and stakeholder management skills. This role offers an opportunity to:
- Introduce new knowledge
- Collaborate with technical teams across product groups and programmes
- Work alongside technical and business leadership
- Help shape the organisation’s future challenges
You’ll need deep expertise in:
- Modern application architecture and integration
- Business, technology, data, and infrastructure architecture (cloud frameworks)
- Aligning technical choices with both current and future business needs
- Developing and marketing a technical vision for the organisation
Responsibilities
- Lead the business application and integration architecture domain, ensuring:
- Strategies and vision are strategically and technically aligned
- Integration of best practices and market trends with the FCA’s context
- Define and maintain enterprise business application strategies and roadmaps, supporting the Business and Technology Strategy
- Establish, document, and uphold patterns, policies, standards, guidelines, and principles for integration architecture to ensure adoption across Product Groups
- Provide architectural governance by:
- Partnering with Product Groups and Programmes
- Chairing/coordinating governance boards for strategy alignment
- Serve as trusted advisor and expert for senior stakeholders, representing technical guidance and decision-making
- Develop and manage a central repository of tools, datasets, and artefacts to assist the Strategy & Architecture function, and support Communities of Practice

Requirements
Minimum
- Significant experience applying architecture principles to transform business environments, application, and integration strategies
- Experience in architectural governance processes, methodologies, and frameworks (e.g., SAFe, Agile, ITIL)
- Familiarity with IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS cloud-based systems
Essential
- Expertise in innovative technical strategies, understanding people, processes, and technology intersections
- Ability to adopt a holistic business view, prioritising cross-functional alignment
- Strong business acumen, blending strategic innovation with pragmatic technical solutions
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influence skills, capable of collaborating across organisational levels and technical maturity
- Experience with SAFe, Agile, ITIL, DevSecOps
- Deep subject-matter knowledge of technology and trends
- Proficiency in TOGAF or Zachman architecture frameworks
- Hands-on experience with:
- Multiple solutions service providers
- Sourcing strategy reviews for enterprise application platforms
- API integration, containerisation, and microservices
- Cloud platforms (AWS, O365, GCP)
