ERP Strategy & Delivery Specialist

Contract | £500–£550 per day Location: Peterborough (Hybrid) Sector: Manufacturing / FMCG

We are supporting an established UK-based FMCG manufacturing business with the appointment of an experienced ERP Strategy & Delivery Specialist for a business-critical ERP implementation.


About the Role

This role combines strategic delivery oversight with hands-on execution. The ERP Specialist will work closely with the Head of Transformation and senior stakeholders to align ERP delivery with operational priorities and ensure go-live readiness.

Ideal for an ERP contractor who thrives on detail, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and transforms implementation plans into operational success.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Planning
    • Support the Head of Transformation in shaping the ERP implementation strategy, delivery roadmap, and go-live approach.
    • Define clear plans, milestones, and delivery actions to translate ERP objectives and business requirements into execution.

  • Cross-Functional Delivery

    • Lead critical workstreams, including:
      • Finance, operations, supply chain
      • Procurement, warehousing
      • Production, reporting
    • Review current-state processes and design, document, and adopt future-state ways of working.
  • Data & Testing Support

    • Oversee data readiness, including:
      • Data cleansing, migration preparation
      • Validation and business ownership
    • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), test scripting, defect management, and cutover planning.
    • Ensure go-live readiness and hypercare post-deployment.
  • Change Management & Knowledge Transfer

    • Produce practical process documentation, user guides, training materials, and adoption plans.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders, teams, and external partners to maintain momentum.
    • Manage actions, risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating blockers as needed.
    • Provide delivery guidance tailored for a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements & Ideal Skills

  • Proven ERP implementation and delivery experience – hands-on experience is key.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, FMCG, or operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes.
  • Hands-on data migration, testing, cutover, and go-live expertise.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Pragmatic, organised, and delivery-focused approach.

Preferred Platform Experience (but wider ERP experience considered): Microsoft Dynamics 365 SAP Business One NetSuite Sage X3 Infor IFS Epicor Oracle
