We're partnering with an established, regulated financial services group to appoint a Director of Enterprise Risk

A senior second-line leadership role at a pivotal moment in the organisation's growth.

This role is explicitly designed as the successor to the Chief Risk Officer. It demands both strategic authority and genuine technical depth, sitting at the heart of the business as it scales and diversifies its product offering, including digital assets, crypto and AI-driven propositions.

What you'll own

  • The design, evolution and delivery of the enterprise-wide risk management framework: risk taxonomy, appetite statements and tolerance thresholds, working alongside the CRO, CFO and Board Risk Committee.
  • Second-line oversight of technology and operational risk, including cyber, infrastructure, data, change, and operational resilience (DORA / important business services).
  • The ICARA process and operational risk capital quantification, including stress-testing and scenario analysis under MIFIDPRU.
  • New product and innovation risk partnership across crypto, digital assets and AI-powered features, building proportionate controls in from inception.
  • Risk governance forums, Board-level reporting, and engagement with internal audit, external auditors and the FCA.
  • Leadership of the Enterprise Risk team and a mandate to drive meaningful risk-culture change.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What we're looking for

  • Significant progressive experience in enterprise and/or operational risk within regulated financial services, spanning both second-line and senior leadership.
  • Deep command of UK regulatory requirements: FCA, MIFIDPRU, Consumer Duty, SYSC, SM&CR.
  • A proven track record presenting to Board-level risk committees and engaging directly with regulators.
  • Hands-on experience designing and running core risk processes (RCSAs, risk registers, control attestations, incident management) at scale.
  • Strong grasp of technology risk and the emerging exposures of AI and crypto infrastructure.
  • We're open on background. This could suit someone from a digital bank or fast-scaling fintech (challenger banks and similar) as much as a more traditional regulated firm. What matters is the calibre of your enterprise/operational risk experience and your comfort operating at board level in a regulated, growing business.
