Role: Senior Strategy Lead / Principal
Location: Central London (near Folgate Street, London) — 4 days/week onsite
Duration: 4 Months (with potential for extension or permanent transition)
Rate: £925 – £950 / day (Inside IR35 / All-inclusive) (Equivalent to ~€1,100 EUR/day)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interim Senior Strategy Lead / Principal to drive enterprise strategy and lead high-priority strategic initiatives for a major Financial Services institution in Central London.
Working directly alongside senior executives and ExCo leadership, you will lead complex workstreams, shape structured analyses, evaluate material growth and investment trade-offs, and deliver Board-ready strategic recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Executive Advisory & Framing: Frame enterprise-level strategic priorities, problem statements, and hypotheses for complex, high-ambiguity business challenges.
- Strategic Option Development: Shape evidence-based recommendations covering growth, operating models, technology, and organizational transformation choices.
- ExCo & Board Delivery: Author executive-ready narratives, facilitate decision forums, and lead strategic workshops for C-suite stakeholders.
- Workstream Leadership: Oversee cross-functional project teams across business, finance, risk, operations, and technology to maintain delivery pace and quality.
- Risk & Conduct Governance: Operates within a First Line of Defence capacity under the Three Lines of Defence framework, ensuring full alignment with financial crime, regulatory obligations, and risk management policies.
- Team Coaching: Mentor and provide directional leadership to internal managers and junior strategy team members.

Required Knowledge & Experience
- Financial Services Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of UK/International financial services, regulatory landscapes, product ecosystems, and enterprise performance drivers.
- Strategy Background: Proven track record within an in-house corporate strategy function, a top-tier management consultancy (MBB / Big 4), or a specialized strategy boutique.
- Executive Communications: Outstanding storytelling and presentation skills with demonstrated experience directly advising ExCo and Board-level leadership.
- Consulting Toolkit: Mastery of hypothesis-driven problem solving, market analysis, business case development, and structured facilitation.
- Education: Degree-level qualification required; MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
