This position is politically restricted under The Local Government and Housing Act 1989 and The Local Government (Politically Restricted Posts) (No. 2) Regulations 1990. It may fall under specified or sensitive roles on the County Council’s list.

About the Role
Nottinghamshire County Council is excited to announce a newly created role for an Enterprising Environment Manager, working closely with the Team Manager, Natural Environment Manager, and the Director of Greenwood Community Forest. This senior position will advance environmental goals through innovative commercial initiatives.
Responsibilities
Key Duties & Accountabilities
As the Enterprising Environment Manager, you will:
- Lead & Inspire: Bring entrepreneurial expertise to develop business improvements and commercial opportunities.
- Drive Development: Identify and implement opportunities to generate income supporting Nottinghamshire County Council’s environmental ambitions.
- Build Partnerships: Develop cross-regional collaborations to attract green finance investment into the region, County, and its services.
- Manage Projects: Oversee key projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

Requirements & Skills
Essential Criteria
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Commercial Awareness: A strong understanding of potential partners and business opportunities.
- Project Management: Proven experience in project planning and execution, including commercial strategy development.
- Environmental Enthusiasm: A keen interest in the natural and historic environment, including green spaces.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Experience in partnership development and engaging diverse stakeholders.
