Enterprising Environment Manager

Enterprising Environment Manager – Politically Restricted Post

About the Role

This position has been identified as a Politically Restricted post under the The Local Government and Housing Act 1989 and the Local Government (Politically Restricted Posts) (No. 2) Regulations 1990. The role is subject to political restrictions outlined in the List of Specified and Sensitive Posts.

The newly created role of Enterprising Environment Manager is a senior position planning to drive entrepreneurial initiatives to generate income and support ambitious environmental goals.

As the Enterprising Environment Manager, You Will

  • Lead and Inspire: Bring entrepreneurial expertise to business improvements and commercial opportunities.
  • Drive Development: Identify and implement financially sustainable initiatives to support Nottinghamshire County Council’s environmental ambitions and income-generation goals.
  • Build Partnerships: Develop cross-regional collaborations to secure green finance investments for the region, County, and service.
  • Manage Projects: Oversee key projects from inception to completion.

Requirements

Essential Experience & Skills

  • A deep understanding of potential commercial partners and business opportunities.
  • Proven project management experience, including developing and implementing commercial strategies.
  • An enthusiastic interest in the natural and historic environment, including green spaces and Urban Forestry initiatives.
  • Partnership development and stakeholder engagement expertise.
