How you’ll make an impact:

Additionally, this role is expected to aid in global standardization efforts and support other entities as needed.
Your role in action:
- Management of month, quarter, and year-end timetable, ensuring bottlenecks are resolved and escalating issues as appropriate, including thorough review of trial balance provided by the BPO, detailed revenue, cost of revenue, operating expense and balance sheet variance and trend analyses.
- Collaborate with the outsourced BPO partner and provide support to the team to achieve agreed objectives.
- Responsible for general ledger accounting for complex transactions within Travelport Americas, directing the functional work of other team members as appropriate.
- Capable of deputizing for Finance Manager when required
- Review/Approve and/or prepare manual journal entries required to complete month-end and annual accounts and to ensure the accuracy and timely posting of entries from sub-ledgers and other entry sources.
- Performing analytical review during month end close to identify and correct any accounting issues as they occur
- Ensure that all accruals, prepayments and any other adjusting entries are booked as necessary along with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Review/Approve and/or prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts.
- Ensure control accounts are analyzed and cleared monthly.
- Review/Approve and/or prepare monthly legal entity reporting packs providing Balance Sheet and P & L analysis and supporting commentary.
- Produce information required by external auditors, including that referred to in Prepared by Client schedules, and any other accounting documentation to satisfy audit requirements.
- Provide accurate financial accounting information and analysis to other interested parties including decision support, tax, controllership, and senior management.
- Responsible for Key control processes and compliance as it relates to controls assigned to these areas.
- Review and improvement of processes.
- Coordination of Prepared by Client list requests to the external audit timetable, working with the BPO to provide required documentation and acting as the key point of contact for auditor queries.
- Preparation of Financial statements of any legal entity and replying to Audit questions
- Respond promptly to all audit questions and items on the PBC list provided by the auditors.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
