Environment Advisor
Environment Advisor – UK Sites (Bradford, Derby, Grimsby)

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Environment Advisor to lead environmental compliance, occupational hygiene monitoring, and regulatory engagement across our UK sites. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive on regulatory excellence, technical problem-solving and hands-on environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Compliance
- Ensure full adherence to Environmental Permits, COMAH, waste legislation and broader environmental regulations.
- Lead permit variations, ADMS modelling, noise monitoring, nuisance investigations, land remediation, and COMAH Safety Report reviews.
Regulator Engagement
- Serve as the primary Environment Agency contact for Solenis.
- Lead regulatory audits, manage follow-up actions, and provide consistent, high-standard reporting and communication.

Environmental Monitoring
- Conduct, collate, and report MCERTS-standard monitoring for Solenis and BASF Dealburn Road.
- Support investigations, modelling, and process improvements based on findings.
Occupational Hygiene Monitoring
- Develop and maintain monitoring schedules for:
- Airborne contaminants
- Dust exposure
- Noise levels
- Heat stress
(Must align with regulatory and Solenis-specific requirements).
Management Systems
- Support ISO 14001 implementation, including procedural development, cluster roll-outs, and internal audits.
Data & Performance
- In collaboration with stakeholders:
- Compile and report Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) performance data.
- Support KPI setting and track waste cost reduction.
Continuous Improvement & Professional Development
- Promote environmental awareness across teams.
- Contribute to improvement projects and complete annual training plans.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certifications
- Degree in Science, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
- MCERTS certifications (at least Level 1, Level 2, TE1, TE3, TE4 – must ensure ongoing recertification).
- BOHS Diploma in Occupational Hygiene.
- IEMA (Institution of Environmental Management & Assessment) auditing experience (desirable).
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of:
- Environmental and occupational hygiene legislation.
- Basic plant and process operations (water treatment, chemical handling).
Soft Skills & Additional Requirements
- Excellent organisation, communication, IT proficiency, and collaboration.
- Training in safety protocols:
- Fall arrest harness usage.
- Respiratory protection.
- Working at height.
- Hazard awareness.
- Permit-to-work, MAAC (Method and Hazardprone Activities Coordination), RAP (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
