Environment Artist
JOIN THE REBELLION!
For 30 years, we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games across our multiple studios—founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley. But Rebellion is more than just games: we have our own film studio, board games, publishing books, and through 2000AD, we create comics and graphic novels like the iconic Judge Dredd.
About the Role
We’re seeking a passionate and driven Environment Artist to elevate the visuals of an exciting, unannounced game—a chance to join a studio renowned for the Sniper Elite series and fresh off the massive success of Atomfall.
As a mid-level Environment Artist, you’ll design props and complete levels in a realistic art style, working closely with level designers and tech artists. This role demands ownership, autonomy, and creativity beyond replication. You’ll refine original concepts while contributing to outsource feedback. The position can be based at Oxford, Warwick, or Runcorn studios, with support to relocate.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with level designers to plan spaces while ensuring narrative and visual storytelling integrity, documenting your process clearly.
- Build functional assets that align with technical and artistic constraints, ensuring reuse across the project.
- Track and update progress using designated tools (e.g., Trello, Jira).
- Engage with stakeholders (tech artists, senior artists, producers) to confirm project objectives, receive feedback, and refine work.
- Reference game design documents to develop environments that reflect game objectives, atmospheres, and style—optimising for current-gen platforms.
- Present work professionally while remaining adaptable to direction changes and open to learning new systems.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
