Environment Artist
Join the Rebellion!
For 30 years, we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games across studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley—but Rebellion isn’t just about games. We have our own film studio, create board games, publish books, and, through 2000AD, craft comics and graphic novels like Judge Dredd.
We’re seeking a passionate and driven Environment Artist to help elevate the visuals of an exciting, unannounced game—this is your chance to join a studio renowned for the Sniper Elite series and fresh off the success of Atomfall, our biggest game launch yet.
About the Role
As a mid-level Environment Artist, you’ll create both props and full game environments in a realistic art style. You’ll have ownership over entire levels, working alongside level designers and tech artists—expect a proactive mindset, curiosity, and a willingness to push original ideas. You’ll also represent Rebellion externally for outsourced feedback.
We are recruiting for Oxford, Warwick, or Runcorn, with a relaxed, collaborative atmosphere and full relocation assistance (moving support, temporary accommodation, and guidance).
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning spaces while considering narrative and visual storytelling, documenting intentions
- Develop environments collaboratively with level designers in alignment with artistic and technical constraints
- Create reusable functional assets across the project
- Track and update daily task progress through internal tools
- Engage in stakeholder communication to validate direction, consistency, and project alignment
- Ensure high artistic and technical quality by collaborating with technical and senior artists, implementing feedback from producers and project leads
- Study game design documents to inform environment design, objectives, atmosphere, story, and style
- Work with current-gen optimisation, including profiling/scene optimisation

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
