Are you an experienced HSE professional looking to take ownership of safety, compliance, and culture within a fast-paced manufacturing environment?
At The Compleat Food Group, we’re looking for an HSE Manager to lead Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across site.
This is a key leadership role where you’ll act as the competent person, driving compliance, improving standards, and embedding a strong HSE culture across the business.
The Role
As HSE Manager, you’ll be accountable for delivering the HSE strategy across your area of responsibility.
You’ll work closely with site leadership teams to ensure legal compliance, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement, while also developing capability across the wider business.
This role offers real influence, giving you the opportunity to shape HSE performance, engage stakeholders, and make a tangible impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver HSE improvement plans aligned to business objectives
- Monitor and analyse HSE performance (KPIs, incidents, trends), driving improvements
- Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, governance frameworks, and OHSE systems
- Lead internal, external, and customer audits, ensuring actions are closed out effectively
- Deliver HSE training and build site-wide competency
- Support and implement risk assessments and control measures
- Manage emergency preparedness and response processes
- Oversee site security and waste/environmental management
- Facilitate HSE committees and promote a positive safety culture
- Act as a key advisor to leadership teams on HSE matters
- Deputise for the Head of HSE when required

About You
We’re looking for a confident and influential HSE professional who can operate at both a strategic and operational level.
You will have:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in an HSE role
- Level 6 HSE qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, compliance, and risk management
- Experience leading audits and working with external bodies/enforcement agencies
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive behavioural change
- Experience managing environmental compliance, including waste and effluent
- Strong leadership and people development capability
