Environmental Advisor

We're looking for an Environmental Advisor to join our Thames Water framework team covering major projects in the Thames Valley patch.

Location: Based from Gerrards Cross, with travel across the major projects sites in the Thames Water patch - Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Middlesex

Hours: Flexible as required - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

This is an exciting opportunity to support our Thames Water framework, delivering multiple projects across dirty water sites including sewage treatment plants. As part of the AMP8 spending period, you'll be helping to improve effluent quality across the Thames Water operating region. This site-based role will see you supporting up to five projects, working closely with our Framework SHE Team to guide project teams through design and construction stages whilst ensuring environmental legal compliance and maintaining our commitment to sustainability.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Environmental Advisor, you'll be working within the Framework SHE Team, supporting them in delivering environmental excellence across our Thames Water projects. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for project and design teams on environmental management matters
  • Leading the development of project Environmental Management Systems and ensuring compliance with regulatory and client requirements
  • Conducting environmental audits and site inspections, supporting third-party audits and incident investigations
  • Facilitating the implementation of the Kier Group Sustainability framework and supporting delivery of sustainability innovations
  • Completing reports on activity, inspection findings, incidents and KPIs, ensuring consistent data collection across sites

What are we looking for?

This role of Environmental Advisor would be a great fit if you have:

  • Experience in environmental management and sustainability within construction projects
  • Practical knowledge of Environmental Management Systems certified to BS EN ISO 14001
  • Experience assessing environmental aspects and impacts, developing mitigation proposals, and implementing environmental management procedures
  • A 14001 Internal Auditor qualification, alongside IEMA accreditation or a commitment to working towards Chartered status
  • A full driving licence, with the flexibility and mobility to support projects across the operating region
