Environmental Advisor
Environmental Advisor – Stonecross, Golborne, WA3 3JD
Murphy is recruiting for an Environmental Advisor to join our Energy Team at our Stonecross site in Golborne, Cheshire.

A Day in the Life of an Environmental Advisor
- Establish and promote best practice in environmental and sustainability in line with SHES (Safety, Health, Environment, Security) functions
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with Company Policy, Procedures, and Statutory Provisions
- Lead incident investigations, analyse data, and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence
- Compile and submit environmental and sustainability statistics on time for SHES reporting
- Review SHES data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Develop and implement SHES campaigns and improvement plans in collaboration with SHES Management
- Provide expert advice to project teams, ensuring compliance with environmental responsibilities
- Support project personnel in managing environmental and sustainability compliance
- Identify significant SHES issues, establish controls, and ensure consents, permits, and exemptions are obtained
- Maintain compliance records relating to Legislation, Company procedures, and Contract Requirements
- Work collaboratively with environmental specialists and external consultants

Experience & Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in an Environmental Advisory role
- Qualified with an Environmental Degree
- Working knowledge of environmental law in the construction industry
- Hands-on experience in environmental risk mitigation on major projects, including:
- Ecological mitigation
- Consents, licensing, and planning (DCO/TCPA review)
- Water management and pollution prevention
- Biodiversity Net Gain
- Waste management
- Statutory nuisance
- Contaminated land assessments
- Construction/infrastructure project experience

- Associate ISEP membership (with support available to advance to PISEP)
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 standards
