Environmental Advisor
Job Title: Environmental Advisor
Reporting to: SHEQ Manager
Business Unit: Omexom ASTI
Purpose Of The Position
The key job functions will be to ensure the project complies with environmental regulations and promotes sustainable practice. This will be achieved by assessing environmental impacts, developing and implementing ideas to minimise pollution, and provide advice on a wide range of issues like waste management, air quality, and energy use. You will need to prepare reports and conclude audits and inspections.
Responsibilities & Duties
Including but not limited to the following:
Support environmental compliance across ASTI projects, ensuring works adhere to environmental regulations, client sustainability targets, and permit requirements. Conduct site inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring (noise, waste, emissions, water quality). Monitor and analyse environmental data and monitor performance against objectives. Prepare environmental reports, permits, and method statements. Provide guidance to project teams on pollution prevention, waste management, and ecological protection. Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. Provide technical advice to project teams and management on environmental issues and green practices.

Project Managers Project Teams External stakeholders, clients etc. Regulatory bodies
Person Specification
Qualifications And Experience
Recognised qualification in Environmental Science or Environmental Studies. Evidence of previous experience of advising onsite teams and liaising with Project Managers. Sound IT skills, including use of the Microsoft Office package with the ability to quickly learn new skills and become familiar with new software packages. Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, able to relate to staff at all levels. Be able to work under pressure, be a team player and have a high level of self-motivation. Possess the ability to use your initiative to ensure new skills and tasks are picked up easily. The flexibility to work additional hours whenever required.
