Environmental Advisor – On-Site Project Support

[CRITICAL]

Job Summary

This role is responsible for supporting the on-site delivery of the project’s environmental strategy.

Reporting to the Environmental Manager, the Environmental Advisor will support the implementation of all environmental management activities, ensuring full compliance with legal requirements and corporate standards, including Dragados’s ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certified systems.

This role requires an active on-site presence to help embed a strong culture of environmental responsibility across the project delivery team, supporting the delivery of exemplary standards of performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance of the project’s Environmental and Energy Plans, monitoring compliance with the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and associated management systems.
  • Ensure all personnel understand their environmental responsibilities through the delivery of site inductions, toolbox talks, and specific briefings.
  • Work closely with construction, design, and commercial teams to ensure environmental risks are understood and appropriate mitigation is incorporated into on-site activities.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and compliance assurance checks, focusing on high-risk activities to ensure consents and client requirements are consistently met.
  • Promote a proactive environmental culture across the project, engaging with the workforce and supply chain to encourage best practices and a collaborative approach to environmental management.
  • Act as a point of contact for site-based regulatory visits and support the Environmental Manager in fostering positive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Produce clear and accurate environmental data for the Environmental Manager to support performance and risk management at a strategic level.
  • Maintain all environmental documentation, including permits, consents, waste records, and audit findings, ensuring they are consistently up-to-date and compliant.
  • Collaborate with technical specialists to assist in the implementation of practical, cost-effective mitigation strategies for environmental risks.
  • Support ‘lessons learned’ reviews following environmental activities and incidents to drive continuous improvement in processes and performance.
  • Develop and deliver targeted training, including toolbox talks and briefings, to manage risk and improve competency.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
