Environmental Engineering – AI Data Trainer
About The Role
We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to make AI smarter in complex scientific domains — and we need environmental engineers to help get it right. As an AI Data Trainer, you'll stress-test cutting-edge language models on real environmental engineering challenges, expose their blind spots, and help build systems that reason accurately about the problems that matter most to our planet.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You set your hours and work on your own schedule.
Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design Challenging Problems — Craft advanced environmental engineering scenarios spanning:
- Contaminant transport
- Mass balance in treatment systems
- Hydrology
- Air dispersion modeling
- Life Cycle Assessments (LCA)
- Author Gold-Standard Solutions — Develop rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions — including:
- Chemical dosage calculations
- Hydraulic flow models
- Pollutant dispersion analyses — serving as benchmark responses for AI evaluation
- Audit AI Outputs — Review AI-generated:
- Remediation plans
- Environmental impact statements
- Engineering calculations for technical accuracy, regulatory compliance (EPA, ISO 14001), and safety
- Sharpen AI Reasoning — Identify flaws in model logic such as:
- Incorrect stoichiometry
- Faulty unit conversions
- Failure to account for secondary environmental impacts — and deliver structured feedback to improve model reasoning
- Work Across Core Domains — Apply expertise in:
- Water and wastewater treatment
- Air quality management
- EHS compliance
- Solid or hazardous waste management

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
