Environmental Field Technician – Site Investigation & Remediation
About the Role
Due to ongoing growth in our UK business, Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Field Technician to join our site investigation & remediation practice, based in Delph.
You’ll build your career while applying your expertise to a diverse range of contaminated land projects. Geosyntec offers an environment where early-career professionals can thrive in a collaborative, inclusive culture, developing skills in your preferred practice areas.
Championed by a welcoming team, this role involves fieldwork, client interaction, and team leadership. You’ll travel across the UK, working for both public and private clients, all while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic outdoor environment.

Responsibilities
- Collect soil, groundwater, surface water, and air samples as part of environmental investigations.
- Prepare daily/weekly field reports, construction schedules, and progress reports.
- Review project documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with project teams (contractors, engineers, clients) to foster open communication and teamwork.

Requirements & Qualifications
Essential:
- Valid UK driving license with a satisfactory driving record (for business travel required).
- Competent use of:
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Excel (advanced functions preferred)
- Microsoft Word
Preferred/Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Geology
- Physical Geography
- Environmental Science
- or a related field.
- Hands-on experience operating industry-standard monitoring equipment, such as:
- Laptop/handheld computers
- Photoionization detectors
- Landfill gas meters
- GPS devices
- YSI spectrometers and other field-sample-collection tools.
- Experience with multimedia sampling (soil, water, air).
