EHSQ Officer

We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused EHSQ Officer to help develop, maintain and continuously improve our Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality standards. This is a varied and hands-on role with a strong focus on the day-to-day management, auditing and optimisation of our Integrated Management System, ensuring continued compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

You will play a key role in translating regulatory and certification requirements into practical, effective processes that support operational excellence across the business. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact in a role where safety, quality, environmental performance and continuous improvement are central to business success. You will work cross-functionally, support meaningful improvements and help shape practical systems that make it easier for teams to do the right thing every day.

Please note: As we work in the Defence & Security industry, all roles will be subject to BPSS checks as a minimum and may be subject to SC clearance, meaning a minimum requirement of 5 years' residency in the UK.

What you’ll be doing

Environmental Management

  • Manage environmental compliance, including legal registers, permits, and adherence to applicable regulations (e.g. RoHS, REACH), ensuring all requirements are maintained within the IMS.
  • Monitor and report environmental performance (e.g. waste, energy, recycling, carbon footprint), driving initiatives to reduce environmental impact and support sustainability objectives.
  • Conduct periodic evaluations of compliance with applicable environmental legislation and maintain documented evidence of compliance status, escalating any gaps to management.

Health and Safety Management

  • Conduct and review risk assessments (internal and external) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).
  • Lead investigations into near-misses and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures to mitigate future risks.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through training and employee engagement.
  • Ensure complete alignment with local occupational health and safety legislation and statutory requirements, including the use of correct PPE and ESD requirements.
  • Conduct routine site inspections and safety walks to proactively identify hazards, ensure compliance, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support emergency preparedness and business continuity activities, including drills and testing.
  • Monitor and report H&S performance metrics, driving continuous improvement.

Quality Assurance

  • Act as the primary custodian of the IMS, ensuring all processes, procedures, and policies are documented, updated, and aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO14001.
  • Manage key compliance systems such as calibration control and ESD protection, ensuring adherence to operational and customer requirements.
  • Continuously evaluate the IMS to simplify user interaction, eliminate procedural bottlenecks, and drive digitalisation of quality data records.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits, managing NCRs, root cause analysis, and CAPA to closure.
  • Assist with IQC/ OQC, MRB, including managing suppliers' quality performance.

Training, Communication and Continuous Improvement

  • Deliver HSEQ inductions and training, ensuring employee awareness and accountability for EHSQ responsibilities.
  • Promote effective use of the IMS across the organisation.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using data analysis and structured problem-solving tools.
  • Manage and maintain environmental compliance requirements, including legal registers, permits and applicable regulations such as RoHS and REACH.
  • Monitor and report environmental performance, including waste, energy, recycling and carbon footprint data, while supporting sustainability initiatives.
  • Conduct and review risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses, site inspections and safety walks to identify hazards and drive corrective action.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through effective training, engagement and communication across the organisation.
  • Act as a key custodian of the Integrated Management System, ensuring processes, procedures and policies remain accurate, accessible and aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
  • Plan and carry out internal audits, manage non-conformances, support root cause analysis and ensure corrective and preventative actions are closed effectively.
  • Support compliance systems including calibration control, ESD protection, IQC/OQC, MRB activity and supplier quality performance.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using data analysis and structured problem-solving tools.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
