EHS Specialist Offshore Service
Location: Lowestoft

Join Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy as a Health and Safety Specialist and play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and sustainability of our offshore wind farm operations off the UK East Coast (Lowestoft). Lead the way in shaping a safer, greener future by championing Health and Safety excellence on-site!
We are seeking an EHS Specialist to provide essential support to our Offshore Wind Farm Service Operations team based in Harwich, ensuring appropriate Health, Safety, and Environmental arrangements are in place. The successful candidate will implement policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment across our operations.
This role is responsible for:
- Collecting and reporting observations of near misses, accidents, incidents, and deviations from agreed standards
- Managing incident workflows from reporting to closure via the agreed communications channels
- Ensuring compliance with Siemens Gamesa procedures and local legal requirements for all health, safety, and environmental incidents, including:
- Investigation and reporting
- Allocation of corrective actions
- Closure tracking
How You’ll Make an Impact
Core Responsibilities
- Promote a “Zero Harm” EHS Culture – Deeply engage with and champion a culture where zero harm is a tangible goal.
- Local Alignment & Strategy Support – Work closely with teams to align with the overall EHS strategy and objectives.
- Enforce Health, Safety & Environmental Systems – Ensure full and effective implementation of the company’s management systems across operations.
- Proactive Safety Monitoring – Actively identify hazards, recommend, and facilitate implementation of effective control measures.
- Regulatory & Compliance Advice – Advise operations management and employees on legislation, standards, and guidelines.
- Cross-team Coordination – Collaborate with EHS teams across the business to share best practices and knowledge-based learning.
- Trainings & Inductions – Create, develop, and assist with the delivery of EHS-specific training and inductions.
- Risk Assessments – Support the completion and regular review of risk assessments.
- Incident & Incident Data Management – Ensure timely recording, reporting, investigation, analysis, and corrective actions against all accidents, near misses, and incidents.
- Compile and Analyze KPIs – Monitor EHS KPIs and statistics, identify trends, and implement actions accordingly. Share insights within the department as needed.
- Documentation & Record Keeping – Maintain all necessary records, including (but not limited to):
- Thorough examination records
- Risk assessments
- Training records
- Diverse EHS Support – Undertake any reasonable activities to support business-wide EHS objectives.
- Knowledge Sharing – Lead lesson-learned exercises and knowledge sharing with regional sites.

What You Bring
We’re looking for candidates with:
- A passion for renewable energy and a strong commitment to leading transformative change.
- A preferred qualification in EHS management, such as:
- NEBOSH, or another equivalentNEBOSH or level 5/6 EHS qualification. Willingness to upskill in a reasonable timeframe if not currently qualified.
- Relevant EHS experience gained in a high-risk, operational, or engineering environment, especially within:
- Power service or similar heavily regulated sectors.
- Problem-solving and guidance skills – Experience in providing pragmatic EHS support and troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to work effectively in demanding, high-performance environments while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented culture.
- Experience with regulatory bodies – Comfortable engaging with external regulators and compliance requirements.
- Strong ability to manage unplanned events and high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships:
- Aligning with internal managers, employees, and external partners.
- Full UK/EU driving license.
- Willingness to travel as required.
