Join Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (part of Siemens Energy) as a Health and Safety Specialist and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and sustainability of our offshore wind farm operations (based in Buckie, UK). Lead the way in creating a safer, greener future by driving Health and Safety (EHS) excellence on-site!
You will provide substantial support to our Offshore Wind Farm Service Operations Teams, ensuring appropriate health, safety, and environmental (EHS) arrangements are in place. Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing policies to ensure a safe, healthy, and amicable work environment.
- Monitoring and reporting near misses, accidents, incidents, and deviations from agreed standards via agreed communication channels.
- Leading EHS incident investigations, allocating corrective actions, and managing end-to-end workflows in alignment with Siemens Gamesa procedures and local legal requirements.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Your role is essential in cultivating a Zero Harm EHS culture. Key responsibilities include:
- Promoting EHS engagement and aligning operations with strategic EHS objectives.
- Ensuring compliance with the company’s health, safety & environmental management systems.
- Proactively monitoring hazards and facilitating effective control measures.
- Providing expert consultancy to operations management and employees on legislation, standards, and best practices.
- Collaborating across the EHS team to drive knowledge-sharing and best practices.
- Developing and delivering EHS inductions and training programmes.
- Supporting completion and review of risk assessments.
- Recording, investigating, and managing corrective action for accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Compiling, analysing, and disseminating EHS statistics & KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records (e.g., risk assessments, training logs, health audits).
- Collaborating on any EHS-related initiatives that support the business.
- Enabling lessons-learned and knowledge-sharing across regional sites.

What You Bring
We’re looking for a proactive professional who shares our passion for renewable energy and is committed to driving change:
- A preference for NEBOSH or equivalent Level 5/6 EHS qualification, or willingness to obtain it in a reasonable timeframe.
- Operational/engineering background in EHS, ideally within a high-impact industry such as power services or a highly regulated sector.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills and prudent EHS decision-making.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-performance team environment.
- Ability to handle regulatory bodies and manage complex compliance requirements.
- Strong crisis management and adaptability in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across internal and external audiences.
- Full UK/EU driving license.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office and general industry-specific software.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
