Environmental Manager

Environmental Manager SSE Renewables – Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm


Base Location

You’ll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Glasgow, Aberdeen, Montrose, Perth, or Reading. SSER locations can also be considered.


Salary & Benefits

  • Basic Salary: £44,000 – £65,900

##About the Role

Environmental Manager

SSE Renewables is seeking a dedicated Environmental Manager to support the Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm—its largest operational site in Scotland.

You’ll provide specialist environmental support, focusing on: ✔ Environmental governance ✔ Discharge of consent conditions ✔ Consents management ✔ Environmental monitoring & post-construction programmes ✔ Regulatory & stakeholder liaison

While based near the Montrose site, you’ll work directly with the on-site team, plus internal stakeholders (e.g., engineering & cross-department teams).


##Key Responsibilities

  • Be the primary environmental point of contact for the Seagreen site, ensuring exemplary performance.
  • Maintain full compliance with licences and consents, including post-consent plans.
  • Lead post-construction monitoring programmes by coordinating with external vendors and partners.
  • Monitor and vary Marine Licences to support timely operational/maintenance activities.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, environmental agencies, and internal colleagues on environmental, land, and fisheries matters.

##Requirements

  • Proven experience in environmental management, including knowledge of:
    • Legislation, policy, and regulatory frameworks
  • Background in marine or offshore projects (renewables experience advantageous but not essential).
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams while building strong working relationships.
  • Strong Stakeholder communication skills, with confidence engaging internal/external contacts, including regulators.
  • Proactive and inclusive approach, with a focus on continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
