Environmental Manager – Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm
Base Location
You’ll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Glasgow, Aberdeen, Montrose, Perth, or Reading (other SSER locations may also be considered).
Salary & Benefits
£44,000 – £65,900 per annum, plus:

About the Role
SSE Renewables is seeking an Environmental Manager to deliver expert support at the Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm—Scotland’s largest operational renewable energy site. Your work will focus on:
- Environmental governance
- Consent compliance monitoring
- Discharge of licensing conditions
- Environmental impact compliance
- Collaboration with site and regulatory teams

You’ll act as the primary environmental contact for the Seagreen site, leading governance and ensuring operational sustainability while liaising with regulatory authorities, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage environmental performance and compliance against licences, consents, and post-consent plans.
- Oversee post-construction monitoring programmes, coordinating with external vendors.
- Monitor/monitor Marine Licenses, ensuring adherence to maintenance schedules.
- Engage with stakeholders (regulatory bodies, environmental agencies, internal teams) on marine, land, and fisheries matters.
- Proactively identify opportunities for compliance improvement, while updating agency reporting.
- Participate in regulatory site inspections, adjusting practices as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Detailed knowledge of environmental legislation, policy frameworks, and best practices.
- Experience in marine or offshore projects (renewable sector preferred but not essential).
- Strong ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and communicate with external partners.
- Stakeholder management expertise, including engaging with regulatory bodies.
- Proactive attitude, focused on lessons learned, continuous improvement, and cultural inclusion.
