Environmental Manager
Environmental Manager – SSE Renewables (Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm)
Base Location: You’ll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Glasgow, Aberdeen, Montrose, Perth, or Reading – or other SSER locations may also be considered.
Salary: £44,000 – £65,900 +
- Car allowance (if applicable)

About the Role
SSE Renewables is seeking an Environmental Manager to provide expert support to the Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm, SSE Renewables’ largest operational site in Scotland.
As Environmental Manager, you will:
- Deliver specialist environmental support for the site, focusing on:
- Environmental governance
- Discharge of consent conditions
- Ongoing consents management
- Environmental monitoring
- Liaise with the Montrose site team, including regular visits to the facility.
- Engage with internal stakeholders, including engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Serving as the primary environmental contact for the Seagreen site, managing environmental performance.
- Ensuring compliance with licences and consents, including implementing post-consent plans.
- Overseeing post-construction monitoring programmes, coordinating with external vendors.
- Monitoring and updating Marine Licences to support timely operational and maintenance activities.
- Liaising with:
- Regulators
- Environmental agencies
- Internal colleagues on environmental, land, and fisheries matters.

Requirements & Skills
To excel in this role, you will have:
- Experience in environmental management, with knowledge of:
- Environmental legislation
- Policy frameworks
- Regulatory compliance
- Background working on marine or offshore projects (renewable energy experience helpful but not essential).
- Strong collaboration skills to work across:
- Multidisciplinary teams
- Internal/external stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging with:
- Regulators
- External parties
- A proactive and inclusive approach with a:
- Focus on continuous improvement
- Commitment to sharing lessons learnt
