Are you an experienced Environmental professional looking for a role where you can take ownership of environmental compliance within a complex manufacturing environment? Yolk Recruitment is supporting the recruitment of an Environmental Manager to join an established industrial business, where you'll play a key role in managing environmental performance, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across the site.

This is an excellent opportunity for an environmental specialist who enjoys a varied role, combining environmental legislation, permit compliance, audits, reporting and practical improvements across day-to-day operations. You'll be responsible for ensuring the site continues to meet environmental standards, working closely with operational teams, senior leadership, external regulators and contractors to maintain strong environmental performance.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental management within manufacturing, industrial processing, recycling, waste management or a similarly regulated environment, with the confidence to influence change, improve processes and promote environmental awareness across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of environmental compliance across the site, ensuring all activities meet relevant legislation, permits and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the preparation, review and submission of environmental reports, ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain and improve environmental management systems, policies and procedures to support ongoing compliance and best practice.
  • Lead environmental audits, inspections and assessments, identifying areas for improvement and supporting corrective actions.
  • Monitor environmental performance through key metrics and provide regular reporting on site KPIs and improvement initiatives.
  • Manage environmental permit requirements, including monitoring, reporting and liaison with external regulators.
  • Oversee waste management processes, ensuring the safe handling, storage, disposal and reduction of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Coordinate environmental testing, monitoring activities and contractor support to ensure continued compliance.
  • Deliver environmental awareness and training across the site, supporting a positive environmental culture.
