Environmental Manager
Environmental Manager (Fixed Term or Secondment) – Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm
Base Location
You’ll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Glasgow, Aberdeen, Montrose, Perth, or Reading.
Other SSE Renewables Energy (SSER) locations can be considered.

About the Role
SSE Renewables is looking for an Environmental Manager to support the Seagreen Offshore Wind Farm, our largest operational site in Scotland.
In this role, you’ll provide expert environmental support, focusing on:
- Environmental governance and compliance
- Discharge of consent conditions
- Consents management and licensing
- Environmental monitoring delivery
- Liaison with site teams in Montrose, including site visits
- Collaboration with internal stakeholders, including engineering teams

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary environmental contact for the Seagreen site, managing environmental performance.
- Maintain compliance with licences, consents, and post-consent plans.
- Oversee post-construction monitoring programmes, coordinating with external vendors.
- Update and amend Marine Licences as needed to ensure operational and maintenance activities stay on track.
- Engage with stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, environmental agencies, and internal colleagues on environmental, land, and fisheries matters.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in environmental management, including knowledge of environmental legislation, policy, and regulatory frameworks.
- Background in marine or offshore projects (renewables experience is a plus, but not essential).
- Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to build multidisciplinary team relationships.
- Exceptional communication skills, especially when engaging with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., regulators).
