Role Overview
Are you an experienced Environmental & Social professional looking to move beyond consultancy and take ownership of environmental and social performance across complex international infrastructure projects?
We're partnering with a growing international EPC contractor delivering turnkey healthcare, digital and public infrastructure projects across Africa and Southeast Asia. With a small portfolio of high-value projects currently underway, this is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping environmental and social outcomes from project development through to construction and operation.
Working closely with:
- Internal stakeholders
- Lenders
- Regulators
- Consultants
- Local communities
You'll lead the management of Environmental & Social (E&S) requirements across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with international lender standards and national regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Environmental & Social (E&S) activities across project life-cycles
- Manage the procurement and review of key E&S deliverables, including:
- Environmental & Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs)
- Environmental & Social Management Plans (ESMPs)
- Stakeholder Engagement Plans (SEPs)
- Environmental and social monitoring programmes
- Oversee specialist consultants and contractors
- Support construction teams on:
- E&S compliance
- Stakeholder engagement
- Ensure alignment with international lender requirements, including:
- IFC Performance Standards
- Equator Principles
- Exexport Credit Agency (ECA) expectations
- Engage with:
- Regulators
- Communities
- Project stakeholders
- Manage environmental and social risks effectively

About You
We're seeking candidates with:
- Significant experience delivering or reviewing ESIAs for:
- Infrastructure
- Energy
- Built environment
- Industrial projects
- Strong expertise in:
- Environmental management
- Regulatory compliance
- Experience working to:
- IFC Performance Standards
- Equator Principles
- International financing requirements
- Excellent skills in:
- Stakeholder engagement
- Project management
- Preference for a:
- Consultancy or owner's engineer background
- Ability to manage:
- Multiple work-streams simultaneously
- Advantageous: Experience working on international projects, particularly in emerging markets
